Despite the growth of the IoT, ever approaching ubiquity, most devices are still unconnected. And many enterprises are either reluctant to buy all-new, smart equipment, or not in the position to make such a capital outlay. The answer, of course if aftermarket add-ons. LPWAN can be a critical piece of that solution. Delegates in this session will learn how and why.

The landscape of IoT Devices continues to shrink in form factor, bandwidth, and power consumption. These attributes demand an endpoint to be super-efficient in onboarding, software delivery mechanisms, as well as security constructs. Often, the devices are addressable through non-Internet Protocol naming and require data delivery to be handling in payloads meant for signaling traffic. Most solutions look to provide a way to retrieve data in proprietary methods and consider the endpoint to be disposable if modifications are required on the embedded software. Introduced in this session will be methods and procedures for retaining the endpoints with a software management lifecycle approach to maintaining and improving the capabilities for the full mechanical age of a device.
