Stephen Mellor is the Chief Technical Officer for the Industrial Internet Consortium, where he directs the standards requirements and technology & security priorities for the Industrial Internet. In that role, he coordinates the activities of the several engineering, architecture, security and testbed working groups and teams. He also co-chairs both the Definitions, Taxonomy and Reference Architecture workgroup and the Use Cases workgroup for the NIST CPS PWG (National Institute for Standards and Technology Cyberphysical System Public Working Group).He is a well-known technology consultant on methods for the construction of real-time and embedded systems, a signatory to the Agile Manifesto, and adjunct professor at the Australian National University in Canberra, ACT, Australia. Stephen is the author of Structured Development for Real-Time Systems, Object Lifecycles, Executable UML, and MDA Distilled.Until recently, he was Chief Scientist of the Embedded Software Division at Mentor Graphics, and founder and past president of Project Technology, Inc., before its acquisition. He participated in multiple UML/modeling-related activities at the Object Management Group (OMG), and was a member of the OMG Architecture Board, which is the final technical gateway for all OMG standards. Stephen was the Chairman of the Advisory Board to IEEE Software for ten years and a two-time Guest Editor of the magazine, most recently for an issue on Model-Driven Development. Roger Rea is responsible to drive market share growth for IBM Streams, leading development, marketing, sales, finance, service and support. Previously, Roger has held a variety of sales, technical, educational, marketing and management jobs at IBM, Skill Dynamics and Tivoli Systems.He has received four (4) 100% Clubs for exceeding sales targets in large account and general business territories, one (1) Systems Engineering Symposium for on-time installation of a Directory Assistance System with multiple sites in two states, numerous Excellence Awards for development and delivery of Competitive, Strategic and UNIX Marketing courses and several Teamwork Awards for successes like revenue growth of 67% in one year as Brand Manager, Intel-based Systems Management.Rea earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science, cum laude, from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). He has also received a Masters Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University. He lives with his wife and two children in Cary, North Carolina and enjoys kayaking, cooking, reading and singing in the choir.


John Horn

John Hon has more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunications and wireless industries. Mr. Horn is recognized as an M2M/IoT pioneer and leader. Previously serving as President of RacoWireless, a leading provider of M2M connectivity solutions, John led the company to record growth and achievement of multiple awards for accomplishments, including ‘Most Innovative Company’ and ‘Entrepreneurial Company of the Year’. Prior to that position, John was a leader at T-Mobile for more than nine years. At T-Mobile, John developed and managed indirect distribution for the California Launch – the largest launch in wireless history. During his last six years at T-Mobile, he focused specifically on developing T-Mobile’s M2M program and go-to market strategy. He also helped T-Mobile earn recognition as the market leader for M2M services. Mr. Horn holds a B.A. in Political Science from UC-Davis.

Angel Mercedes is a sales management professional with 19 years of wireless sales experience initiating, developing, and managing sales relationships with customers, distributors, and manufacturer representatives. He is currently Manager, Services Sales North America, AirVantage IoT Platform for Sierra Wireless. Prior to joining Sierra Wireless, Mercedes held management positions with some of the most respected companies in the M2M/IoT and wireless communication industry: Sr. Manager M2M/IoT Business Development for T-Mobile USA, Head of Telematics for Telenor Connexion, M2M Business Development Manager for Arrow Electronics, and Director of Sales for Ericsson Inc. He also served as Sr. Technical Services Manager for Brother International Corporation and as RF Design Engineer for several engineering firms.Mercedes has a strong reputation and has been recognized for his expertise in the M2M/IoT industry. He has been invited speaker at many M2M/IoT related conferences and trade shows. Also has been interviewed by many wireless industry related publications and M2M/IoT industry analysts. The Hispanic IT Executive Council (HITEC) named Mercedes as one of the 2014 HITEC 100, an award that is given to the top 100 most influential and notable Hispanic Professionals in the Information Technology Industry. Mercedes earned an M.B.A. in Business Administration and International Business from Florida Atlantic University and a B.S. in Electromechanical Engineering from Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo.


Tristan Barnum

Tristan is co-founder and CMO at Tellient, creators of the first analytics platform built specifically for the Internet of Things. Tellient focuses on the big data needs of network operators and chip manufacturers as the IoT era unfolds. Tristan co-founded Switchvox in 2003, which was acquired by Digium, the Asterisk Company, in 2007, to serve the rapidly growing SMB market for VoIP phone systems.Prior to Switchvox, Tristan pioneered the online delivery of digital media at, which Vivendi Universal acquired. Her work included the design of new web services, handheld mp3 players, tablets and interactive TV. While at Vivendi, she was awarded a patent for a system that provides access to electronic works over a network. Tristan is also currently a mentor at non-profit EvoNexus, San Diego’s largest tech startup incubator.


Jennifer Singh

From strategy to execution, Jen makes innovative ideas become product realities. As a Director within the Applied Innovation team at Thomson Reuters, Jen has a constant eye on the emerging technology landscape to generate product and partnership opportunities. She partners both internally and externally to conceptualize ideas, build proof of concepts, deploy prototypes and deliver revenue generating products. After starting her career in financial services, Jen has since worked across Thomson Reuters in a variety of strategic and operational roles. Jen is a graduate of Georgetown University and holds a B.S. in Finance and Accounting. She also earned an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Jen currently volunteers as the City Director of House of Genius Atlanta, a community that helps entrepreneurs overcome challenges. She resides in Atlanta, Georgia, is a weather nerd, and big fan of group fitness.

Doug Wilson is an Internet of Things Evangelist and Speaker and Moderator on the Internet of Things solutions and markets. He has successfully brought several new IoT solutions to market through the partnerships with Verizon. Doug works with many new and emerging IoT companies that are developing Internet of Things (IoT) products or cellular connected solutions in an advisory capacity to provide a completely connected IoT solution. Doug has had a successful career with Verizon as an IoT/M2M Technical Specialist, Verizon Partner Program Manager, Data Sales Account Manager and Data Sales Engineer and has won several awards for his efforts. Prior to that Doug worked for Verizon Business on the Sales Engineering Team as a Network Equipment Sales Specialist. Doug has had an extensive career in voice and data communications sales and engineering with numerous enterprise class organizations such as Belkin, Microsemi, Avaya, and NEC. Doug started off his technical career by serving our country in the US Air Force as a Communications Specialist where he achieved Management and Outstanding Team Chief awards.


Syed Hosain

Mr. Hosain is responsible for the architecture and future direction of Aeris’ networks, development programs, and technology strategy. He joined Aeris in 1996 as Vice President, Engineering, and a member of the founding executive team of Aeris. He has over 35 years’ experience in the semiconductor, computer, and telecommunications industries, including product development, architecture design, and technical management. Prior to joining Aeris, he held senior engineering and management positions at Analog Devices, Cypress Semiconductor, CAD National, and ESS Technology. He has presented papers and participated on panel sessions at conferences on machine-to-machine (M2M) networks, Internet of Things (IoT) applications, and cellular technologies for M2M / IoT. Mr. Hosain is Chairman of the International Forum on ANSI-41 Standards Technology (IFAST), Chairman of the Global M2M Realization Forum (GM2MRF), and is on the Board of the Mobility Development Group (MDG). He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA.


Robert Forget

Robert Forget currently serves as the CTO for Aware360. In this role, Mr. Forget is key in technology research and integration reviews including both devices and software. Robert also manages technology partners and strategic sales efforts for custom solutions leveraging the Aware360 platform. Previously Mr. Forget worked for Vecima Networks Inc., in positions of increasing responsibility starting in business development and moving through the organization as Director of Sales, AVP of Product Management and finally as VP of Telematics. Robert ran his own consulting firm from 2000-2004, specializing in electronics design and systems implementation. Robert has a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Physics from the University of Saskatchewan, an MBA and is a certified Professional Manager. Mr. Forget currently serves on the board of directors for the Canadian Institute of Management and has been active on the boards of many organizations from such diverse areas as technology associations, housing developments, politics, and not for profits.
